From this July 3, Inma Sanz, born in Zamora 49 years ago, will be the third mayor who has had Madrid throughout its history. He repeats in a position he enters and leaves as he has been advancing and his wife Teresa Urquijo. Sanz was mayor during the 15 days that his honeymoon lasted and will be now that he has been a father. Almeida’s right hand will be in charge of Madrid for six weeks, the minimum period that the law obliges, in which it will be absent after the birth of his son Lucas. He has been a councilor, spokesman and campaign manager. Friends and enemies agree that he is the perfect “black leg” puppy formed in the Madrid Popular Party. It doesn’t matter the position he occupies in the field because it is a sure value that does not excite, but neither does it disappoint.
In the life of the most powerful (temporary) mayor in Spain there are two families. The biological, daughter of a widowed mother who arrived from Zamora and worked very hard to carry out four children; and the Popular Party. He joined the PP of Tetuán at age 18, when the most exciting thing was to pass the afternoons by putting envelopes in letters to the affiliates, but Esperanza Aguirre noticed her when she was president (2003-2012) and climbed positions by cultivating an image of loyal compliant.
Since at the end of the 90s he entered the party, he has never worked on anything other than politics or public function. The acting mayor arrives in the official skoda every day before 9 am to her office in the City Council. The Government delegate in Madrid expects few changes during these six weeks and limits Inma Sanz’s role to being a mere prolongation of Almeida. “The vice mayor has executed the policy of the and the confrontation marked by Almeida,” he explains.
