São Paulo club took 38 small fans in the match against Sport for Brasileirão; The limit is 22
It received a warning from the (Superior Court of Sports Justice) for allowing the entry of 38 children on the lawn during the opening match of the Brazilian Championship 2025. The information was released by ge on Wednesday (2.Jul.2025).
The decision was made after the club exceeded the limit of 22 small fans by team established in article 47 of the General Regulation of Competitions of the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation). The club from São Paulo exceeded 16 the maximum number of children allowed to accompany players at the entrance to the field.
The episode took place before the 0-0 draw against Sport, in the inaugural round of Brazilian, on March 29, 2025.
São Paulo’s lawyer, Pedro Moreira, defended the club and questioned the application of the rule.
“This forecast in the entrance protocol has always existed in the regulation and I believe it has been since the beginning of Serie A, but never, never charged this rule. The clubs always saw this standard as a mere recommendation. We know that the great clubs in the country have a line of almost 6 months for the child to enter the field and on the day of the game arrive more children with requests of authorities.”he said.
Pedro Moreira also cited the lack of prior communication on the supervision of the standard: “I have never seen any incidents with children and has always occurred in the best possible way. This complaint to Sao Paulo was in the 1st round of the championship and there was no email, office, nothing sent to clubs stating that this standard would come into force.”.
The process does not mention whether other clubs also broke this rule or if there will be more rigorous supervision.
O Poder360 He sought Sao Paulo to ask if he would like to comment on the STJD decision. The club said it will not comment.
