Labor offices will pay for a one -off -year -old first -year -old child allowance of EUR 170. They will receive the contribution in October without submitting any application. On Friday it informed the headquarters of labor, social affairs and family (ÚPSVaR).
“Starting at school is an extraordinary event for every child and his family. Significant expenses are also associated with the beginning of the new life chapter. We assume that thanks to this increased allowance, we will support the freshmen of the freshmen of approximately six million euros this year, so we will help them to manage higher expenses related to the beginning of the school year, ” stated the Minister of Labor, Social Affairs and Family Erik Tomáš (Voice-SD).
Increased child allowances have been providing labor offices since 2019. The parents of children who have entered the first year of elementary school are entitled to it. In particular, the aim of this paper is to support freshmen families in ensuring basic school needs in order to support the fulfillment of the school’s duties of dependent child. The paper is only provided once and is directly tied to the child’s accession to school.
“Only in 2024, the Labor, Social Affairs and Family Offices paid an increased allowance for nearly 57,000 children. Since 2019, we have supported 335,000 freshmen on the occasion of their joining school in this way and sent them 35.5 million euros. I believe that thanks to this state aid, many families have managed to better manage increased spending at the beginning of school life, ” approached the CEO and Secretary -General of the ÚPSVaR Service Office Peter Ormandy.
He added that if a parent does not receive an allowance for a child in Slovakia, but in another EU Member State, he would claim an increased allowance by applying for it. The application form is available on the Labor Office website.
