Suspected of attack on the knife in Finland chose victims at random

The 23 -year -old man stuck for stabbing four people near a mall in On Thursday (3) said he chose his victims randomly and felt “persecuted,” announced the Finnish police on Friday (4). “Asked about the reasons for his act, the aggressor said that all humans were enemies and that all pursued him,” said chief inspector Sakari Tuominen during a press conference.

“There is no reason to think that the act was motivated by terrorism or racism,” police said, who accuses the suspect of four “attempted murder.” With criminal records for high violence crimes, the suspect, of Finnish nationality, was arrested without resistance. Tuominen added that the 23 -year -old man had a criminal record, including by stabbing someone in 2023.

Police asked the suspect to remain in pre-trial detention until a scheduled audience for Monday. The attack occurred near a mall in Tampere, 180 kilometers north of Helsinki. The victims, three women and one man, were hospitalized with serious injuries.
