US President Donald Trump admitted that in a telephone interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday he had not made any progress on the ceasefire in Ukraine. “No, I have not made any progress with him at all,” Trump answered the question of whether he approached the agreement to terminate the Russian invasion. Trump added that “not satisfied” with the ongoing war, AFP reported on Friday night.
Putin said during a telephone conversation with Trump that Moscow would not abandon its goals in UkraineBut he is still interested in settlement of conflict through diplomacy, said Putin’s advisor Yuri Ušakov.
As far as domestic policy is concerned, Trump welcomed the approval of his main bill on the Tax and Expenditure Act by Congress and said it would strengthen the US economy. “This country will become a rocket,” Trump told journalists as he was going to travel to the Assembly in Iowa, USA, who will start celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence. He described the law as “the greatest bill of its kind ever signed”.
