President Donald Trump revealed on Thursday (3) his intention to organize a UFC fight on the White House lawn to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States independence, which will be celebrated on July 4, 2026. The event, which could gather between 20,000 and 25,000 spectators, would be part of a series of festivities planned to mark the historic frame.

During an event in Des Moines, Iowa, Trump pointed out that the White House has ample space to host the event, which would be a “complete struggle” of mixed martial arts. The president, UFC enthusiast and close friend of League President Dana White, said the combat will be one of the many special events held in national parks, historic battlefields and other emblematic locations in the country.

In addition to the UFC struggle, Trump announced a big party at National Mall in Washington and an athletic competition involving high school students across the country.

The White House did not disclose additional details about the organization of the event, but spokesman Karoline Leavitt said the president is “very serious” about the fight. Trump has recently participated in several UFC fights, including watching fighting alongside Dana White, which reinforces her personal interest in the sport.
