The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Thursday that he failed to advance with Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine, while the Kremlin insisted that the Russian president would remain faithful to his goals in the conflict.
The discouraging Trump evaluation occurs at a time when the peace conversations led by the United States to end the conflict in Ukraine, which has been stagnant for more than three years, and after Washington suspended some shipments of weapons to kyiv.
“It was a fairly long call; we talked about many issues, including Iran, and also, as you know, about the war with Ukraine. And I am not happy with that,” Trump told reporters, about the telephone dialogue he had with Putin on Thursday.
