A new round of the dispute between Urbia, Ibirapuera Park concessionaire, and part of the former space goers, running advisers and their students, starts to be played in the coming days.
With information on the concessionaire’s social networks and the promise of opening registration soon, Urbia created its own official running advice, Run in Ibira, which will be covered in the park previously occupied by retailer Centauro.

It seems great service for the paulistano, but it is good to understand something from its circumstance: since the concession, in 2020, prices of products or services offered in the park suffered significant increase – the parking space to the rental of the bike, through the food sold there.
In addition, Urbia imposed a collection of right to use the running advisers present there, a charge that was considered “unfair and illegal” by the São Paulo State Public Prosecution Service, who, in an order signed by prosecutor Silvio Marques, in March, saw the park to become “elitized place”, with “leasing spaces to certain companies that restrict full access to the population.”
The MP’s decision was contested by Urbia, who got an injunction in court to follow a single advisory.
Prior to MP-SP intervention, agreements had been tempted, including intermediation from the city’s Green Secretariat and the environment.
Douglas de Melo, president of ATC-SP, an entity that brings together much of the São Paulo race advisers, told the column that ATC follows the MP’s decision, but before that, when negotiating with Urbia, much of the ATC disappeared in the writing of the contract. Urbia disregarded the five -year period, set unilaterality in breaking the agreement and did not include, in clause, the parking discount for students – which runs on Ibira now offers.
The arrival of the run in Ibira does not change, for Douglas, the current state already conflicting things, but some associates see in monthly “bad faith” price policy.
Douglas said that Urbia herself said to the ATC that the average ticket charged by the advisers present in the park to her students would be $ 300 to $ 350, and this value would be the prices to be practiced by the coaches. “If it was $ 350 and now they charge $ 200 for the service, that means they were overpricing us, or that right now they want to harm us.”
One effect of price increase in the park, according to Douglas, is the disinterest in the parking lot. When going by car, your students now prefer to park on the street. Also, according to the coach, theft of goods inside the vehicles are common inside the park, when not the theft of the cars themselves.
Going by bicycle can also be a cold. I speak from my own experience: I had my homesick rim 29, then perfectly chained in an official park paraciclo, stolen on the sunny morning of a business day, about a year ago.
Urbia’s press office declined to talk about Corre in Ibira before the official presentation.
