Country celebrates the holiday of Independence Day; Scholarships operate again on Monday (7.Jul)

The US stock exchanges will be closed this Friday (4.Jul.2025) because of the national holiday. The recess affects (NYSE), and other financial institutions, which resume operations on Monday (7.Jul).

As this year the holiday fell on Friday, the closure will be extended over the weekend, resulting in 3 consecutive days without trading sessions.

In addition to scholarships, banks and brokerages also interrupts activities, affecting international compensation and settlements. The market is operating again from Monday, at regular negotiation times: from 10:30 to 17h (Brasília time).

On Thursday (3.Jul), the last business day before the break, the index recorded 44,828.53 points, with positive variation of 0.77% in closing. Already Nasdaq had an increase of 1.02%, ending in 20,601.10 points.

Prolonged holidays often reduce liquidity in international markets because of the high correlation between other global and American indices. Operators often adjust positions before recess, to avoid exposure to unexpected events during the break.
