The former leader of her Labor Party announced on Friday that he is in discussions about creating a new political party, as – as she said – the prime minister’s government “refused to bring the change” awaited by voters during her first year in power.

Corbin assumed the leadership of the party in 2015 and was the left -wing Labor leader. He resigned after the 2019 elections, when the workers suffered the worst electoral defeat since 1935.

The party suspended its participation in 2020 and later dismissed it, following a report on how to deal with complaints about anti -Semitism during its leadership.

To further split

Corbin’s plans to create a new political body may cause further split on the basis of traditional left -wing workers’ voters, at a time when Kir Starmer loses support and the hundreds of sovereignty of the two major parties in Britain seems to be threatened.

“The democratic foundation of a new political party will soon begin to take shape,” Corbin told the X platform. “The discussions are going on – and I am excited to work with all communities to fight for the future worthwhile.”

The announcement that workers may face a new threat from the left came after the worst week of the government, in which it was forced to withdraw key aspects of planned reform of social welfare, shaking its fiscal plans.

Since he easily defeated conservatives in the elections a year ago, Starmer’s popularity has collapsed. The Labor Party is now consisting of a consistently lower rates than the far-right Reform UK, led by pro-Brexit politician Nigel Faraj.

When voters were asked what they consider to be the greatest achievement of labor in the elections in the elections, the most frequent answer was: “Nothing”, according to polling company More in Common.

How much would the new party gather

According to the same company, a new left -wing party under Corbin would garner 10% of the vote, reducing labor rates from 23% to 20%.

Corbin, who was re -elected MP as an independent last year, said that “the labor government refused to bring the change that the people were waiting for and deserved.”

On Thursday night, MP Zara Sultana announced her retirement from the Labor Party and her intention to participate in the establishment of the new party with Corbin.

Corbin congratulated the Sultana on Friday for her “dignified decision” to leave the party and expressed his joy that would help “build a real alternative”.
