Six passengers were injured in the Ryanair fire in Palma de Mallorca. The cause of the incident is still investigated.
Shortly after midnight, six passengers at Son Sant Sant Joan in Palma de Mallorca were injured in the fire of an aircraft of Ryanair. They were taken to the hospital, TASR writes according to DPA and Euronews.
According to the emergency medical service, 18 people were injured, but not all injuries required hospital treatment. Eyewitnesses of the incident have described panic among passengers. The evacuation took place through emergency exits above the aircraft wings, forcing passengers to jump on the landing area from a large height, while firefighters and police approached the place.
According to the media, it was a “small” fire, but panic broke out among the passengers and many did not follow the instructions of the crew. From the previous reports, it is not clear on what line the plane flew, or whether it was about to take off or just landed. The authorities do not yet know the cause of the fire and will be published after the incident examination.
