Bregenz-A forest fire at the small Koschuta in Bad Eisenkappel-Vellach (district of Völkermarkt) at around 1700 meters above sea level kept the region’s fire brigades busy on Saturday. A mountain pine field of about a hundred square meters had probably caught fire due to lightning, the police said. 16 fire departments fought the fire with 200 forces and 26 vehicles, they were supported by the police helicopter because of the difficult accessibility and impassability of the site.
