Finance Minister Fernando Haddad said on Friday (4) that the NDB model (Novo Development Bank), also known as Banco do Brics, is financially viable and has concrete and sustainable impacts.
Haddad spoke during the 10th Annual Meeting of the NDB council of governors, and recalled the founding of the bank 10 years ago, as the creation of a financial institution aligned with the ambitions of the block’s member countries.
“The diagnosis at the time has identified a real lack of long -term features for infrastructure and sustainable development, not attended by the international financial system,” said Haddad. “Today, the solidity of this diagnosis finds full confirmation in NDB results.”
For Haddad, the itself evidences the relevance of the institution.
“This process of expansion is a clear demonstration of NDB’s relevance and attractiveness, but also the NDB president’s strategic leadership, Dilma Rousseff. Under its command, the NDB has won a new international geopolitical dimension,” Haddad said in a stupid.
