He was, but was hospitalized since August 2023 in a private hospital in Rio de Janeiro due to health problems. On May 10, the rapporteur authorized Jefferson’s trip to house arrest.
On June 30, the defense of the former deputy asked the Supreme Court to the Rio de Janeiro State Penitentiary Administration Secretariat that the unit’s electronic monitoring team would attend Jefferson’s house to change the equipment because then was squeezing Roberto Jefferson’s foot.
According to his lawyers, this could “generate insatiable damage to his health condition, which is already extremely weakened.”
In the decision in which he released the former Drivel of the prison, Moraes ordered the use of an electronic anklet and the seizure of the passport. The former deputy was, but received the right to house arrest in January of the following year for health reasons. In October 2022, he returned to the regime closed for reiterating the rules of house arrest.
