The presidents of, (-PB),, (-ap), and (Supreme Federal Court), in addition to the Minister of Tourism, (União Brasil), used aircraft from the FAB (Brazilian Air Force) to go to the Parintins festival in Amazonas last weekend.
What regulates travel allows the use of aircraft by Senate, Câmara and STF presidents, as well as government ministers and military commanders. The Ministry of Defense can also release flights to other authorities.
The rules provide for requests to be made for emergency medical care, due to safety or for travel to service. Different authorities, however, often use flights to commitments that are not directly linked to their functions and that do not always appear in official agendas.
According to FAB records, Sabino, Motta, Alcolumbre, CNJ (National Council of Justice) Corregedor-General Mauro Campbell, and five others shared an aircraft to go from Brasilia to the festival on Friday (27). On the way back to the federal capital, on Sunday (29), the aircraft transported 20 people.
Sabino, Motta and Alcolumbre were received in Parintins by Senator Eduardo Braga (MDB-AM) and Mayor Mateus Assayag (PSD). In an interview with a local radio, Braga said he got $ 17 million from the three authorities to recap the airport track and joked that this “The Grand Prix” of the festival this year.

Parliamentarians from other states and the president of União Brasil, Antonio Rueda, also went to Parintins over the weekend. During the Senate session of Tuesday (1st), the party leader, Senator Efraim Filho (PB), mentioned the victory of the guaranteed ox.

The Ministry of Tourism’s advisory said the flights were requested by the Senate and the House and that the portfolio institutionally supports the event, “responsible for injecting more than $ 180 million in the local economy, as well as promoting the appreciation of Amazonian culture and stimulating tourism in the northern region of the country.”
Alcolumbre and Motta did not report having had no official commitment in Parintins.
The Senate President’s press office said the use of FAB planes meets security recommendations and follows the legal provision for power of heads. The senator added that he is proud to promote the Parintins festival.
“The president is proud to defend, honor and disseminate the Parintins Folkloric Festival, which was officially recognized as a demonstration of the national cultural, valuing and preserving the rich Amazonian cultural traditions of our country,” said the Senate President.
Regarding Barroso, FAB records indicate that he left Brasilia on Thursday (26) and passed in Rio Branco, the capital of Acre, before going to Parintins. After the festival, he went to Sao Paulo.
Asked, the president of the Supreme Court said he has been to all states for meetings with court presidents and discussions about the functioning of the judiciary. The magistrate said that, in the case of the Court of Amazonas, the meeting with the president, Judge Jomar Fernandes, took place in Parintins.

Shortly after the meeting, on the 14th, the aircraft made the reverse route and returned from Brasilia to Petrolina, with a stop in Salvador. From Petrolina, the mayor went to Campina Grande, in his state, Paraíba. According to FAB, 10 other people were with the deputy on the flight.
The president of the Senate also accompanied Motta at the event of Campina Grande alongside the Paraíba Senators Efraim and Venetian Vital do Rêgo (MDB-PB).
The FAB does not make the passenger list available or the reason for each displacement, only the authority, the number of people carried, the cities involved and the takeoff and landing hours. Motta did not explain the reason for the parade in Salvador nor did he comment on the June trips.
