British rock band Oasis gathered in Cardiff, Wales on Friday night, after the Gallagher brothers leave behind more than 16 years of disagreements to present a show full of hits that led thousands of fans back to optimism and the attitude of the 1990s.
The Manchester band defined the rebirth of “Britpop”, marked by the return of guitar music, before tensions between the band’s main composer, Noel Gallagher, and his younger brother, vocalist Liam, would take to the end of the group.
Oasis took the stage of the mainstream Stadium, with a capacity of 74,500 people, and sounding as cohesive as at the height of fame.

The crowd sang along hits such as “Cigarettes & Alcohol” and “Roll With It”.

The band had announced the shows almost a year ago, starting a frenzy for tickets.
“What makes the OASIS meeting special is what makes any special meeting: it has to be something people really want and something people have thought they would never see. And Oasis fulfills these two requirements,” music journalist Mark Sutherland told Reuters.
“They are more than a band, it’s almost like a movement,” said Matt Hobman, 48. “It’s like a piece of British identity.”
The Gallaghers were accompanied on stage by the original member Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, as well as from Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Joey Warnker.
Many fans waited for hours on lines online to buy tickets last year, just to find that prices had risen when they finally had a chance to buy them.
The UK competition inspection body has launched an investigation into Ticketmaster because of the sale, including the use of “dynamic prices” to increase the cost for fans at the last minute.

After doing two shows in Cardiff, the Oasis Live ’25 tour will remain in the Gallaghers hometown, Manchester.
The tour continues in the United Kingdom and Ireland, followed by shows in North and South America, Asia and Australia.
