During the program of Expoacre Juruá, in Cruzeiro do Sul, the Industry Social Service (Sesi) is offering the public a series of educational and health activities aimed at industry workers and the general community. One of the highlights of the booth is the bioimpedance service, a body assessment made through modern equipment that measures, among other data, weight, body fat and temperature.
According to Perla Borges, manager of the Sesi/Senai Integrated Unit in the Municipality, the initiative aims to bring the services closer to the institution of the population. “The worker goes to our booth, performs bioimpedance and already receives all the information about his body state. A nutritionist is present to bring a brief reading of the data and guide about the health of the participant,” he explains.

The equipment is now permanently available at the Sesi unit in Cruzeiro do Sul and can be accessed by any industry worker. Participation in the fair serves as a showcase for the services offered throughout the year. “We want to show society that we have modern equipment available and that it is possible to look for Sesi to use this service,” adds Perla.

In addition to bioimpedance, the Sesi booth also has interactive activities aimed at occupational safety. There are educational games such as memory game, which helps visitors identify the personal protective equipment (PPE) required by regulatory standards (NRs) and in which situations should be used.

Perla also pointed out that Sesi, in addition to Occupational Health and Safety Services, offers Youth and Adult Education (EJA) and essential programs aimed at the industrial area, such as the PGR (Risk Management Program), PCMSO (Occupational Health Medical Control Program), PPR (Respiratory Protection Program) and LTCAT (Technical Report on environmental working conditions).
“Our work revolves around worker safety and education, ensuring that it is well prepared and protected in the industrial environment,” he concludes.
