President Donald Trump signed his $ 3.4 trillion budget project on Friday, transforming the extension of tax cuts, new temporary exemptions for tips and financing to combat illegal immigration.
The package encompasses a set of priorities that Trump defended in his 2024 campaign – and his promulgation at a ceremony in the White House represents a great political victory for the president, whose second term has so far been marked more by executive actions than legislature.

This Legislative Framework reinforces Trump’s rule over the Republican Party, whose leaders in the Capitol pressed to approve the bill in the House and Senate this week. To meet July 4, Trump made calls and summoned some parliamentarians to the White House in a pressure campaign to win the key opponents.

“These are really promises made, promises fulfilled,” said Trump before signing the measure at an outdoor ceremony preceded by an Air Force passage. After quoting what they said were their efforts to restore the American force on the world scenario, the project called “the biggest victory so far.”

Republican legislative leaders have surpassed narrow margins, the unified opposition of the Democrats in Congress and objections of tax conservatives and moderate to approve the project before Trump’s deadline, which coincided with the holiday of Independence Day.

However, legislative success brings political risks to the president and the Republicans, with consequences that can reverberate for years.

The tax package imposes severe cuts and new administrative procedures in nutritional and health care programs that offer a safety network for workers and unemployed Americans.

The congressional budget office, which is an aparti, estimates that the changes will take about 11.8 million Americans from the Medicaid Health Insurance Program. Others warned that the reduction of hospital payments may lead to the closure of rural medical units.

The cuts helped make Trump’s emblematic plan unpopular, with research showing public rejection.

Some republicans in the Senate warned that the party may face a negative reaction at the polls. Democrats promised to use the project against Republicans in preparing for next year’s middle term elections.

Trump and his supporters present the measure as a fuel for an economic rebirth, disregarding the apartisan projections that the package will increase national debt.

“Our country will be an economically rocket,” said Trump, while discarding research that indicates that the measure is unpopular.
