Lucerne-France defeated defending champion England at the women’s football European Championship in the Schlager of Group D in Zurich 2-1 (2-0). Ex-European champion Netherlands started the tournament in Lucerne on Saturday with a 3-0 (1-0) against outsider Wales. The Netherlands meet England on Wednesday, France plays against Wales.
