After a period of internal disputes and intense conversations, former Senator Jorge Viana stated that the PT’s direct election (PED) process represents a new cycle for the party in Acre. In an interview on Sunday (6), during the vote in Rio Branco, Viana spoke about the situation of the state and pointed out the party’s goals for the 2026 elections.
“Acre cannot be the land of goodbye. Today, we are one of the states that lose the most people elsewhere. This is a reflection of corruption, incompetence and abandonment,” criticized Viana.

For him, the PT needs to take advantage of this moment of internal reorganization to prepare with responsibility and unity.
“They have been there for almost eight years in power. They have gained everything. And what did they deliver in return? A discouraged state, in crisis, that pushes their children out. We need hand in hand, call even those who think differently, and try to save Acre from the hole in which it was thrown,” he said.

Viana also associated the advances in Acre in the past with the support of the federal government.
“People may not like it, they may even criticize, but Acre only thrives Lula in the presidency. This is a fact. And now that public policies have come back, we need to support them,” he said.
Despite the recent wounds, the former senator was optimistic:
We have already made a big change back there. There, in the works of all municipalities. Now the challenge is different: making a new change in politics. Because those who have won everything, in fact, are embarrassing Acre. And if God willing, with the support of the people, we will have good victories next year, ”he said.
