The president lamented, this Sunday (6), the tragedy caused by floods in the state of in the United States, which have left more than fifty dead and at least twenty missing children. In a message published in X, Lula expressed solidarity with the victims and said he was moved by the severity of the situation. “I sadly follow the news about the floods that are taking place in the United States. Tragedies like this, which has already caused more than fifty deaths, and left more than twenty missing children, moving everyone anywhere in the world,” he said.

The president also wished the local authorities and the US government success in rescue and support actions. “May the authorities of Kerr County, the State of Texas and the US government succeed in rescuing and assisting those affected by this disaster. And to all the people who have lost their loved ones, I want to express my solidarity, and the solidarity of all the Brazilian people. That God helps them in this difficult time,” he wrote.
