Dandara Tonantzin had been prevented from running for state president for “default on party contributions”
The National Directorate of the PT (Workers Party) postponed the votes for national and state president in Minas Gerais. With this, the result of the claim should be delayed in more than a week, as the state has no date for the round.
On Saturday night (5.Jul.2025), the party said it was informed of a court decision that, in short, prevented Dandara Tonantzin’s candidacy. Its registration had been challenged by “Default in party contributions”. According to the party, she would not have paid a debt of $ 130,000.
Dandara argued that she had no opportunity to “effective contradictory”that is, could not speak with their allegations and evidence. After sending its parts of the case, and proving that the error took place at the banking entity, the Federal District and Territorial Court) understood that it was made possible to run for the claim.
According to the party, the decision to postpone the claim was due to Logistics impossibility To insert the name of the federal deputy in the banknotes already produced, printed and distributed to more than 700 municipalities of Minas in time for the election, scheduled for 9am this Sunday (6.Jul).
Another justification is that there would be no time to perform all preparatory procedures adopted for voting, supervision and investigation of results, and political unfeasibility of insecurity that could be imposed on the other affiliates to the PT.

The National Directorate of the acronym called for an extraordinary meeting at the party headquarters on Tuesday (8.Jul), at 5 pm, to decide a new date for the state election process, as well as the vote for the national presidency, and the cases of judicialization by members against internal party decisions.
PT ELECTION
The PT (Workers Party) holds the internal elections this Sunday to decide the new president of the acronym. After a 12 -year hiatus, the party returned to the format of direct choice with votes for the affiliates. The 2nd round, if necessary, will be on July 20.

Candidates
Four names compete for the position. The former mayor of Araraquara (SP) is considered a favorite. He is supported by President Lula and represents the majority current of the CNB subtitle (building a new Brazil).
