The BRICS Summit continues at a meeting until Monday (7), but the main and most anticipated statement of the meeting has already been released on Sunday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released the document, called “Rio de Janeiro Declaration”, with the main discussions of diplomats from the group’s member countries.
At the opening of the meeting, early on Sunday, the renovation of the United Nations is one of the central points of the statement.
The document also cites the so -called “two -state solution” to the conflict between Palestine and Israel, suggesting that only the constitution of sovereign states would be able to resolve hostilities in the region. The point was difficult to negotiate for Iran, which does not recognize the state of Israel.
