An unusual attack of bees in the city of Aurillac left 24 people injured, including three in serious condition, according to local authorities. The City Hall of Cantal, in the south center of, reported that passers-by were chopped for about 30 minutes on Sunday morning, 6. Firefighters and medical teams ran to the scene to serve the victims, while police cordoned the area until the bees stopped the attack. The three most serious cases were taken to a local hospital.
Pierre Mathonier, mayor of Aurillac, told the broadcaster France 3 that the incident may be related to Asian Wasp that threatened to be installed hives for over 10 years on the coverage of a hotel in the city center. He stated that this probably left the aggressive bees. “Everything ended well,” said Mathonier. “Emergency services acted perfectly coordinated. There was no panic in Aurillac, but several people were bitten.”
