The Ministry of Cities has offered dwellings of My House, My Life in Bethlehem, the capital of Pará, to try to help supply the bed deficit for the climate conference of (United Nations Organizations).
The intention of the portfolio, according to reports made to the column, is to use these places to house technicians and other members of the Brazilian government during the conference.
Sought, COP30 did not respond until the publication of this report.
The organization of COP estimates that from 30,000 to 50,000 people will be concomitantly present in the capital of Pará during the event.
The biggest logistical challenge is the lack of so -called AAA beds, that is, those of high standards, who serve to host heads of state and other expected authorities at the event. This is because the city is not used to receiving this volume of people with this profile.
To supply the total need for beds, both federal government and Pará mobilized housing from Aribnb, luxury cruises to be moved from the coast of Belém and made the renovation of old buildings viable to turn into hotels.
In addition to the high demand for high category beds, simpler accommodation is also becoming a challenge.
Part of organized civil society, for example, still seeks accommodation for up to 15,000 expected people on the agenda of the people’s dome, an event concomitant with COP30 and that should gather the third sector in debates about.
