President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has recently said that the development of artificial intelligence (AI) cannot become the privilege of few countries or some billionaires. The Chief Executive spoke at the opening of the “Strengthening of Multilateralism, Economic-Financial Affairs and Artificial Intelligence” session during the first day of BRICS summit meetings.
It is expected that at the end of the meeting, the group release a specific statement on the subject, which seeks the appreciation of data from member countries.

“The statement sends a clear and unambiguous message: new technologies must act within a model of fair, inclusive and equitable governance,” said the agent. “The development of artificial intelligence cannot become the privilege of few countries or an instrument of manipulation in the hands of billionaires. Nor is it possible to progress without the participation of the private sector or civil society,” he continued.
