The “Chesperito: Unintentionally Wanting” series has aroused the public’s interest on behind the scenes of the actors of the series “Chaves” and a subject that is always on the conversation wheels is “who died” or “who is still alive”.
Among the actors and actresses of the main cast, only four are alive: Florinda Meza, who played Dona Florinda; María Antonieta de Las Nieves, who made Chiquinha; Carlos Villagrán, who lived Quico, and Edgar Vivar, who played the role of his belly.

Roberto Gómez Bolaños
The protagonist and interpreter of Chaves, Chapolin Colorado and Dr. Chapatincreator of the show, died on November 28, 2014, at the age of 85. The actor and humorist had a cardiac arrest at his home in Cancun, Mexico. His health was already fragile, according to information from family members, and that was lying in bed all the time, with accompaniment of professionals 24 hours a day.
Two days before he died, he had written a message on his Twitter account (today X) declaring his love for Brazil.
Raúl ‘Chato’ Padilla
Raúl ‘boring’ Padilla, famous for the role of Jaiminho, the postman, and the delegate Morales in the Chespirito series, died in 1994, at 75, due to an acute myocardial infarction. He was married and had three children.
Rubén Aguirre
Rubén Aguirre, who played dear Professor Girafales, died on June 17, 2016, at 82, due to pneumonia complications. He had been married for 54 years to Consuelo de Los Reyes Medellin and left two children.
The actor and his wife had suffered a car accident in 2007 and the two started using wheelchairs. She even lost a leg in the accident. Already Rubén had to undergo some surgeries.
On June 15, 2015, the teacher’s interpreter published a message on Twitter asking for financial help to cover “serious health problems” spending and claimed medical help to an association of Mexican actors.
Ramón Valdés
Ramón Valdés, who gave life to the iconic his Madruga, died on August 9, 1988, at age 63, officially due to a cardiorespiratory arrest, spine and prostate cancer. He had three children and was one of the first actors of the show.
Miguel Valdés, grandson of the actor, published a video on a social network in 2025 and said the reason for his grandfather’s death was a stomach cancer. The doctors decided to have surgery, but the disease spread to the bone marrow, which caused a lot of pain. “It was for a disease that most of the [integrantes da família] Valdés died, cancer, ”he said.
The grandson also reported that Ramón developed a tumor in the lower back and doctors only drugs it so that he could have a good quality of life in his last moments.
Angelines Fernández
Angelines Fernández, the actress who played Dona Clotilde, the famous 71 witch, died on March 25, 1994, in Mexico City, at age 71, due to lung cancer, cardiac driving problems and respiratory failure and Chronic renal failure. She left a daughter.
She and Ramón were very friends in real life and, before she died, expressed her desire to be buried with him. Her desire was fulfilled and the body of Angelines today is in Panton Mausoleous del Angel, in the same grave as her friend.
Horácio Gómez Bolaños
Horácio Gómez Bolaños, who played Godinez, died suddenly on November 21, 1999, at age 69, due to a heart attack. The actor and screenwriter was very reserved for personal life and there is no information on being married or not, but he had a daughter.
Horace’s body was cremated and his ashes were in the Mother of Czestochowa Dios Parish in Naucalpán, Mexico.
