Said he expected Biden’s victory
In February 2024, the President. Biden was a competitor of Donald Trump, a politician that the Bolsonaro family often quotes as a reference.
“I hope Biden wins the elections. I hope the people can vote for someone who has more affinity. Biden’s speech from the beginning to now is in defense of the world of work,” Lula said at the time.
Trump has been politically coupled with the Bolsonaro family. Currently, Eduardo Bolsonaro, one of the former president, is a federal deputy licensed to plan a offensive to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, a rapporteur in the process that investigates the 2022 coup plot in the STF.
Defense of Venezuela
Lula has already made one, seen with suspicion by international observers.
In 2023, the petista stated that there was a “narrative of antidemocracy, authoritarianism” by the opponents of Nicolás Maduro, who rules the country, and that it was up to the regime to “show its narrative.” He also said, at another time when he was asked about Caracas, that the concept of democracy was relative.
In another demonstration, now in 2024, Lula said he was “prevented from running in the 2018 elections and, instead of crying, I indicated another candidate who disputed the elections”, talking about the opposition of the Venezuelan government.
Nicolás Maduro took over the presidency in Venezuela in 2013 after the death of Hugo Chavez, who was deputy. Since then it has been reelected in voting seen with suspicion by the international community and has hardened state control and repression against opponents.
