Less serious
Among those accused of minor crimes are, for example, supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) who remained in front of the Army Headquarters in the federal capital, in protest against the result of the 2022 election, with requests for military intervention. The conviction, in this case, was due to the crimes of criminal association and incitement, and the established punishment was a year of arrest.
The crime of incitement is considered less serious and, therefore, the convicts were able to sign agreements of non -criminal prosecution to replace the arrest for the provision of community services. In all, 555 people chose to sign the document.
The Federal Prosecutor’s Office also determined, through this agreement, that the sentences would take an online course on democracy and do not use social networks for a year.
