Three people in a critical condition were taken to the local hospital. Mayor Aurillac Pierre Matonier said in an interview with France 3 that the incident could be related to Asian hornets that threaten the hive installed on the hotel terrace in the city center. According to Mathonier, this probably caused bee aggressiveness.

“Everything ended well. The rescue services were greatly coordinated. There was no panic in Aurillac, but several people were bitten,” he added.
