President of the United States stated that block has “anti -American” policies and that there will be no exceptions
US President Donald Trump (Republican Party) on Sunday (6.Jul.2025) that any country that aligns to “BRICS anti -American policies” It will be the target of an additional 10% rate on products exported to the US.
“Any country that aligns with BRICS anti -American policies will be charged with an additional 10%tariff. There will be no exceptions to this policy.”wrote Trump on his social networking social network.
The publication is on the same day as BRICS its final statement of the summit.
The document condemns “Imposition of unilateral coercive measures contrary to international law”and cites “Negative implications”but does not explicitly mention Trump’s tariff. It is a sign that there was care of the BRICS countries by not quoting the Republican.
This is not the first time Trump threatens the block. In at least 2 moments of 2025, in and in, the American spoke of taxing the BRICS countries by 100% if the group created an alternative currency to the dollar.
BRICS, but did not mention Trump. Just criticized what he called “Extremism”.
