A man died Tuesday at the airport of Milan Bérgamo – orio to the serious (north of Italy) after breaking up the track and being sucked by the engine of an plane that prepared to take off, which caused the temporary suspension of operations at the airport, official sources reported. The plane involved is an Airbus A319 of the Spanish company Volotea, destined for the Oviedo Airport (Spain), which was preparing to take off.
“We are investigating information from an incident that involves our flight V73511 BGY-OVD, which occurred on the ground after the embarkation was completed and ready for the exit. We are aware that a person has suffered serious injuries related to the aircraft engine,” he just confirmed the airline in his X account.
The authorities investigate what happened and at the moment it is unknown if it is a person from outside the airport or, on the contrary, a worker or passenger. The event occurred shortly after 10:00 local time (08:00 GMT), when a man agreed to the track where a plane performed maneuvers to take off and was allegedly sucked by one of his engines.

“The flight operations at the Milan Bérgamo airport were suspended at 10:20 (8:20 GMT) due to an inconvenience that occurred in the filming street, whose causes are being investigated by the forces of the order,” said the airport managing company, Sacbo, in a note.
To allow the intervention of order forces and perform the first inspections, the flights were diverted to other airports, including Bologna, Verona and Milan Malpensa, and air traffic resumed at 12:00 (10:00 GMT), according to the aerodrome.
Milan Bérgamo Airport – Orio to the serious one, located about 45 kilometers from Milan, is a terminal widely used by low -cost airlines as an alternative to the main airports of the city, Linate and Malpensa.
