Botafogo announced on Tuesday (8) the hiring of coach Davide Ancelotti, 35. Son of Carlo Ancelotti, coach of the Brazilian team, the young man signed a commitment to the end scheduled for December 2026.
Davide had been working on Carlo’s commissions since 2012. He accompanied his father at Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern, Napoli and Everton and also arrived with him to the national team of Brazil.
The professional will not completely abandon the yellow-green team. Under the Botafogo sewn agreement, he will be able to join the committee in the World Cup next year to be played in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The leaders of the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) welcome the hit. They believe that their presence in the Rio club will accelerate their adaptation to Brazilian football and help Carlo’s work.
Davide even tried her playing career, having acted in the base categories of Milan and Bergomanero. Ended up giving up and dedicated himself to studies. He attended sports sciences at the University of Milan and started acting with his father at the age of 23.
“My father taught me to be flexible, to adapt, to have different ideas and ways to win. It’s important for a team to know how to manage the different phases of the game. That said, each one has their preferences, and I prefer a slightly more vertical, bolder football style,” he said.
The Italian arrives in Botafogo to replace Renato Paiva. The Portuguese was fired after the team’s participation in the Club World Cup, which had a significant victory over Paris Saint-Germain, European champion, before disappointment in the round of 16, with defeat to Palmeiras.
Ancelotti will have in his commission the Spaniard Luís TEMNET and Briton Andrew Mangan as auxiliaries and Italian Luca Guerra as a fitness coach. According to Botafogo, he is a “young coach, prepared and with a strong ambition to build his own legacy.”
