Twenty First Group, football consultancy, did a study comparing the world’s leading football leagues. According to the study, Brasileirão is the sixth strongest league in the world.

In front of the Brazilian Championship, would only be the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, the Italian Championship and the French Championship.

The study also spoke about the competitiveness of the championships, that is, the balance between the teams capable of winning. According to the consultancy, Brasileirão is the second most competitive championship in the world, behind only MLS.

The reason for this balance is that there is no such distance between the first and the last places of the tournament, unlike some of the main European championships.

MLS, on the other hand, has a hard salary ceiling, typical of US leagues, preventing one team from spending much more than another. With this, it becomes a much more balanced championship.

Already one of the most unequal championships in the state is that of Saudi Arabia. The four main teams, which belong to the country’s Public Investment Fund (PIF)-Al-Hilal, Al-Ahli, Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad-dominate the other teams financially and competitively.
