Mónica Silva became known as Murtosa’s pregnant woman after disappearing on October 3, 2023.

The Aveiro Court acquitted, this Tuesday, Fernando Valente, the man suspected of killing Mónica Silva, the pregnant woman of Murtosa, who has been missing since 2023.

In early November, Aveiro’s prosecutor (MP) deduced prosecution Fernando Valentethe man who was arrested by the Judicial Police (PJ) on suspicion of having MONTA MONICA SILVAa pregnant woman from Murtosa (Aveiro).

The order of prosecution, dated November 4, imputed to the defendant to commit the crimes of Qualified Homicide, Abortion, Corpse of Corpse, Illegitimate Access and False Currency Acquisition to be put into circulation.

This Tuesday, Fernando Valente was acquitted from all crimes.

The court only proved that the defendant became sexually involved with the victim at least once and that Fernando Valente acquired a prepaid card he put in an old mobile phone to avoid his location, having used it to make an appointment with the victim on October 3, 2023.

It was also proved that that day the mobile phone of Monica activated an antenna that covers the Arguido Apartment in Torreirawhere the prosecution says it will have the crime occurredalso proving that, in the following days, the defendant and the father proceeded to a Deep Apartment Cleaning.

The trial made with the Jury Court (composed of three career judges and eight jurors) took place at the closed door, by decision of the judge’s head of the case, to protect the personal dignity of the victim in the face of the other interveners involved, namely their children (both minors).

During the trial, the defendant denied the accusationsreaffirming its innocence in the last session, after the final allegations.

The MP had filed an claim for compensation against the defendant, in the 200,000 euros global amount to compensate for damage to the victim’s children, whose body was not found to date.

The defendant was arrested by the PJ in November 2023, and, after being present the first judicial interrogation, was in pre -trial detention, passing a month later to house arrest.
