Goldman hires a former UK Breedie, Rishi Sunak, as a senior counselor

Goldman Sachs announced that Rishi Sunak, a former UK Prime Minister, returned to the company as a senior counselor.

Sunak, who was in the position of Prime Minister from October 2022 to July 2024, will work with Goldman headquarters leaders in New York to advise globally clients on various topics, “sharing their unique perspectives and insights about the macroeconomic and geopolitical scenario,” said CEO David Solomon in a statement on Tuesday (8).

Prior to being a prime minister, Sunak was a chancellor of the Treasury from February 2020 to July 2022, as well as having worked as Secretary of Treasury and Parliamentary Undersecretary at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. He began his political career as a member of Parliament in 2015.

After leading the conservative party in the worst defeat in history in last year’s general elections, Sunak continues to act as a deputy for the Richmond and Northallerton district in northern England. During the election campaign, he pledged to remain parliamentary throughout the next legislature, regardless of the result of the vote. His successor, Keir Stmerer of the Labor Party, can call the next general election until mid -2029.

Sunak began his career at Goldman as a summer in investment bank in 2000, and later as an analyst from 2001 to 2004. Subsequently, he co -fired an investment company that operates with international companies.
