Mysticism or science? Canada filmed a rare natural phenomenon after a storm

The inhabitants of the Canadian province Alberta, Ed and Melinda Pardy, witnessed a rare natural phenomenon after a storm: they observed a bright white-blue sphere near their house.

Scientists believe that spouses have witnessed an unusual natural phenomenon, which rarely occurs in nature. The couple filmed the phenomenon, in pictures being visible a bright light object located a few hundred meters from their home, informs the Canadian Global News.

Ed told the journalists that, together with his wife Melinda, they went out on the porch of the house around seven in the evening to better see the approaching storm. The storm was accompanied by intense lightning and even led to the issuance of storm warnings and monitoring for possible tornadoes in the region.

“After a very powerful lightning strike, I saw a fire bile floating about six meters above the ground. It was simply sitting there, big and round. Before disappearing, a small explosion took place, and all that thing seemed to break down and disappear,” the man recalls. He added that he was glad that this phenomenon “disappeared as quickly as it appeared.” Ed’s wife says he failed to understand what he was, actually.
“I asked myself: what is this? It didn’t even have the color of the fire. It could have been an electric fire bile, because it had a blue hue,” Melinda said.

What the specialists say

The journalists presented the images with the phenomenon of Frank Florian, a senior manager of the department of planetarium and space sciences within Telus World of Science in Edmont. He is convinced that Pardy’s husbands have seen a globular lightning.
“It could have been a globular lightning or another manifestation of an electric shock,” he explained, adding that some scientists study this phenomenon and try to reproduce such events under laboratory conditions.
According to the specialist, such phenomena occur when the plasma is closed in a small space, and an electric channel is created between the cloud and the soil. They “meet” somewhere in the middle, and the air overheat suddenly, forming plasma.

“When this plasma extends very quickly, the thunder that usually accompanies the lightning. But when the lightning generates the plasma, sometimes part of this plasma can remain suspended in the air for a short period. rarely ”.
