O, Edinho Silva, indicated on Monday that “Brazil without privileges” will be one of the motors of the president’s reelection campaign next year.

Speech is consistent with the rich against poor and tax justice as a way of trying to recover popularity.

“President Lula’s reelection means we build a Brazil without privileges. A Brazil of equal opportunities for all Brazilians, all Brazilians. A fair country does not combine with any form of privilege,” said Edinho Silva.

He made the statements at the party’s headquarters in Brasilia during a statement with other petist leaders to announce his victory in the election by command of the subtitle. Edinho had the support of Lula, and thanked the head of government during his speech.

The elected party leader said the new government speech is just a reaction to the political conjuncture.

Lula and his allies adopted this tone after the National Congress imposed a series of defeats on management, which wants to increase the IOF (Tax on Financial Operations) to close accounts without cutting social programs and public services.

Reading at the government’s summit is that opposition and centrão politicians anticipated next year’s dispute – that is, they want to weaken the current government now to reduce the chances of reelection of the petista.

PT’s new president also indicated that Lula’s campaign will return to speak of national reconstruction, one of the main ideas propagated in the 2022 presidential race. In that dispute, the petista said that Jair Bolsonaro had destroyed the country.

Edinho Silva, moreover, mentioned a defense of democracy as a possible speech in 2026. In this case, there will also be a repetition of the previous election, when the PT accused Bolsonaro of having dictatorial trends.

“[A reeleição de Lula] It means democracy prevails in the face of authoritarian thinking, which unfortunately grows in important sectors of Brazilian politics. Even an authoritarian thought of fascist inspiration, “said Edinho Silva.

The new president of the PT also argued that the party discusses a project to implement the free pass in public transportation, as well as preparing proposals for public safety – a theme in which the right often prevails.

Edinho spoke to journalists alongside the current party president, Senator Humberto Costa, and party leaders Jilmar Tatto and Gleisi Andrade. Jilmar is also a federal deputy.

The inauguration of the president -elect of the subtitle should be held in early August, during the National Meeting of the PT.

Edinho Silva was mayor of Araraquara (SP) for four terms. He was also a state deputy, Minister of the Government Dilma Rousseff and president of the PT Paulista Directory. In addition, he was coordinator of Lula’s campaign communication in 2022.
