PM operation with a dead suspends takeoffs at Guarulhos Airport

An operation of the Military Police caused the suspension of takeoffs at Guarulhos International Airportin São Paulo, on the night of Monday (7). Agents carried out the action after the complaint that a It would be occurring in a community behind Terminal St. John.

According to the PM, the suspects would have surrendered and tied a victim in a commercial establishment and the community led. Arriving at the scene, the agents heard gunshots and found three individuals, who reacted to the approach.

In the confrontation, one of the criminals was shot and taken to the São João Emergency Care Unit, But it didn’t resist and died. The other two managed to escape to a forest area.

On the ground where the suspects were was located a tied dead man and a firearm was seized. “The occurrence was sent to the police district for investigation by the Civil Police,” said the PM.

Also according to the police authority, information points to the Acting of a Crime Court.

The takeoffs were interrupted for 15 minutes due to the patrol that searched the forest area where the criminals fled. The action was supported by air policing, in a coordinated action with the control and the airport tower.

In a note, the He reported that “the action was exclusively from the Military Police in the Malvinas and Morro Portugal community, and the takeoffs were suspended for only 15 minutes. Nothing that interfered with the operation. All normal.”
