The government of Tehran said on Tuesday that at least 1,060 people died during the 12-day war with Israel in June, admitting that the balance of victims could increase.
Iran’s head of the Iran Martyrs and Veterans, Saeed Ohadi, presented the new balance during an interview broadcast on Iranian state television on Monday night.
Ohadi warned that the number of Iranian dead can reach 1,100, given the severity of the injuries suffered by some people hit by the bombing of Israel and the United States.
The war began on June 12 and extended for 12 days. Israelite bombing aimed at Iranian nuclear facilities.
Since a ceasefire has been established, Iran has been recognizing the breadth of destruction, although it has not yet revealed the amount of military material it has lost.

Trump says they will want to resume negotiations
On Monday, the US President said Iran wants to resume talks about the nuclear program. Iran did not confirm Donald Trump’s statements that gathered on Monday as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington.
Trump again indicated that the Iranian authorities contacted the United States to schedule talks about the Iranian nuclear program. The negotiations had started in April, but were interrupted after Israel started military operations last month against Iran.
“We marked conversations with Iran,” Trump told reporters. The US envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, said the meeting will be held soon.
