O Botafogo became interested in striker Roberto Firminofrom al-ahli, from Saudi Arabia. Glorioso even probed the player in May, but did not open negotiations.
This Tuesday (07/08), journalist Jorge Nicola reported that Alvinegro resumed conversations by the 33-year-old athlete.
Firmino no Botafogo: Chance to happen
According to Nicola, Botafogo has two major assets: the first is Europe’s lack of proposals for the striker, and the second is Davide Ancelotti’s presence, as a success at Botafogo could help him in a return to the Brazilian team, led by coach Alvinegro’s father, Carlo Ancelotti.
Roberto Firmino has a contract with Al-Ahli until June 2026, but wants a new challenge. He was cut from the Saudi Championship in February, by technical option, but ended up turning around as he was used at the Champions League of Asia and ending as a champion.
As the player’s desire is to transfer, Al-Ahli can facilitate negotiation. However, a free release is unlikely. The “Transfermarkt” site, expert in ball markets, says Firmino at 5 million euros (R $ 31.9 million).
Despite the reported interest, there are no details on the progress of negotiations with Botafogo.
Roberto Firmino: Salary
Firmino’s monthly salary in Saudi Arabia is $ 10 million per month, outside the standards of Brazilian football. The player would have to accept great reduction to hit with Botafogo.
Alvinegro’s highest salary is $ 1.5 million, paid to Alex Telles.
