In a statement, the GNR said that the Guardian military, in the context of a coast patrolling and surveillance, detected in the early hours of Tuesday suspected movements south of Armona Island.
Following the action, the sea team was triggered, which intercepted and seized a vessel already inside Ria Formosa, with 20 bales of serapequeira that contained hashish and 20 Jerricans,
According to GNR, the suspects on board fled when they realized the presence of the guard vessel.
The facts were reported to the Olhão Judicial Court.
