The morning of the 3rd session of the Marquis case trial was marked by an incident with a listening to a conversation between Socrates and Granadiro. But also for the reference to the current Prime Minister, and the Spinumviva case, made by José Sócrates.
Prior to the break for lunch, the third session of the Marquis case trial was marked by an incident that led the judge to make an apology: “The Court regrets the incident.” Also noteworthy is that José Sócrates resorted to the recent example of the Spinumviva case, which involves the current Prime Minister Luís Montenegro.
This reference to the current head of the government came after José Sócrates said that he was asked to intervene with the Angola government regarding the Lena Group. It is, then, that prosecutors ask if they had treated other companies the same way.
In response, Socrates says he has “the greatest like to explain” and does not want to “invoke the principle of the current Prime Minister, who refused to name the companies he worked for.”
“There were several. Two or three [empresas] worked with the Venezuela government. Several asked me to intervene with the government to be received. That’s what I did. I also do not want to discredit these companies, bringing them to a discussion. To the absence of better, I commit to bringing a list of companies that asked me for intervention. I can deliver, give you the list [mas] I have to ask them for permission. Maybe they even have some impediment, ”he said in court.
Interrupted listens with intimate conversation by Socrates, judge apologizes
It was already late Wednesday morning, just before the break for lunch, that after a request for reproduction of a listening that the incident happened.
In the listening, which reproduced a call between Socrates and Henrique Granadeiro, he hears the former prime minister to talk to the former PT president about the intimate conversation he had had with the historic socialists Mário Soares and Almeida Santos.
The listening was, however, interrupted not only by the language used but, above all, by the theme. “The court regrets the incident,” says Judge Susana Seca.
But Socrates reacted. “This is a miserable and unworthy voyeurism, not only for me that I am here to hear them [mas também para] Some of them [as pessoas referidas] already deceased. Does a prosecutor ask for such a thing to court?! Two of my most beloved friends… This is being exposed in this way unfortunate by the MP. They don’t have the right to use this! ”
