Use without medical advice, incorrect application and non -standard doses may compromise the effectiveness and safety of treatment

The requirement for medical revenue for the acquisition of these medicines will surely increase the safety of those who use them

One fact that has happened to me with a certain frequency is the care of patients who come from doctors – or, worse, from other non -medical professionals – using (Wegovy) microdes. The lowest dose of Ozepic available on the market is 0.25 mg. However, some people are using 0.125 mg or even less. I also observe the daily administration of microdes, which is even more worrying.

Use of the standard compromises the effectiveness

The justification for this type of use is the reduction of side effects, but this argument is only valid at the beginning of treatment. Numerous studies have been done by the manufacturer that indicated that weekly doses are more effective. There is no scientific evidence that proves the usefulness of this daily microdosage tactic. In addition, there is a higher risk of contamination and skin infection, as these microdes are extracted with insulin syringes from the dose pens, as in the case of Mounjaro, launched in Brazil, whose formulation is designed for a single dose.

Risk of side effects and ineffectiveness

Another important problem is that the daily application of microdes can cause doses overlap and, therefore, more side effects. Although the use of smaller doses may apply to weight maintenance phases or in cases of patients who need to lose very little, use without medical advice may result in unwanted effects or simply any results.

Look for an endocrinologist before starting treatment

The requirement of prescription for the purchase of these drugs will surely increase the safety of those who use them. Possible side effects include pancreatitis, loss of muscle mass and hair loss. In case of interest in using these medications, it is essential to seek a specialized doctor, such as the endocrinologist. For small weight losses, there are safer and more effective alternatives.
