The (Federal Supreme Court) granted house arrest to the mayor of, Eduardo Siqueira Campos (Somos), 66, investigated for leaking information from (Superior Court of Justice). He earlier this week at the barracks he had been in prison for two weeks.
The request for house arrest was granted by the minister, rapporteur of cases in the Supreme Court involving the mayor. The replacement of the prison by the household had been done before Siqueira Campos was infarmed. “We will now work on the revocation of the preventive,” lawyer Juvenal Klayber told UOL.
The (Attorney General’s Office) requested examinations. The agency wants to verify the mayor’s health and requested information from the prison unit on the continuity of medical treatments.
Initially, the PGR manifested itself against the defense requests and requested the maintenance of the pre -trial detention. However, after new requirements and the analysis of the documentation, the Supreme Court requested a new manifestation of the agency.
At PGR’s request, Zanin also ordered the constitution of an official medical board to evaluate the mayor’s conditions, according to the defense. The Board had a period of 48 hours to present an opinion. Reports and additional information pointed to “health weakness of the investigated”.
Mayor is under observation
Siqueira Campos had acute myocardial infarction and underwent emergency catheterization. The procedure was successful, the cardiologist Andrés Sanchez, from the Palmas General Hospital, said last Tuesday (8). “At the moment, the patient is stable, conscious and remains in the ICU of this hospital unit,” he said. According to him, Siqueira Campos will be accompanied in the coming days.

Accused of leaking information
The mayor was arrested preventively on June 27. He is accused of leaking information from U Supreme Courts. The investigation obtained conversations on his cell phone that show that he monitored investigations to inform political allies, according to the PF.
At the time, he said that the investigation is not about the current mandate and that everything will be clarified. “At this time, it is important to provide all clarifications and keep preserved the population of Palmas and the municipal management,” he said in a statement when he was arrested.
