Vienna – Wealth in the world is extremely unevenly distributed. It’s not that far. The fact that the rich get richer and richer has often been written. But what do we actually know about the concentration of assets? Relatively little, as socio economist Stephan Pühringer says. He heads the institute for the overall analysis of the economy and the Socio Ecological Transformation Lab at the Linz Institute for Transformative Change at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. In these functions, Pühringer has often dealt with questions about wealth. He states: “Privetry has completely got out of the solder.” The scientist draws a comparison to illustrate: GDP in Austria is around 438 billion euros. The assets that Tesla founder Elon Musk is assigned is 480 billion euros.
