Surprising change in Red Bulle: Christian Horner ends after 20 years! Who will replace it?

Christian Horner of the Red Bull team finished as the head of the team and the CEO. The long -standing face of the F1 stable will be replaced by Laurent Mekies. Red Bull did not give the reason for his decision on Wednesday’s statement, but thanked Horner for his work and stated that “he would remain an important part of the history of our team forever”.

Horner’s successor Mekies will come from the Racing Bulls sister team. Horner has been the head of the Red Bull team since his entrance to F1 as a full -fledged designer in 2005 and helped him win eight world champion titles. Four times thanks to Sebastian Vettel and the same number from Max Verstappen. He also helped six titles in the designer cup.

However, Red Bull is lagging behind this season, the fourth with 288 points behind the leading McLaren. Verstappen is the third with 69 points behind the leading Oscar Piastrim of McLaren. Last year, Horner deprived the accusations after an internal investigation of the team from inappropriate behavior, which was raised by a former employee.
