The popular jury that has seen the case against Montserrat N .., on the floor they shared in Ripollet (Barcelona), in April 2023, of a knife that reached his heart has reached a verdict on Wednesday unanimously: the woman is guilty of killing him with alevosía, mistreating him in a regular way, threatening and injuring him. The woman submitted Aleix A. -with whom she maintained a short sentimental relationship and then shared a flat for three months- to a situation of violence, aggressions and vexations until she killed her. In his environment, Montserrat N. said he was a policeman. In the trial he admitted that he was only registered in an academy to present himself to the opposition to move.
Now the Professional Court must issue a sentence that decrees the penalty that the woman must comply with. The Prosecutor’s Office finally requested 38 years that the victim’s family, who was 43 years old when he was killed, requests permanent prison for women. During the trial, Monsterrat N. admitted a relationship with blows, aggressions and vexations, but attributed it to a kind of game. “Punishments as if we were five -year -old children,” he said.
In the room, audios and videos were reproduced that the defendant recorded with her phone (she also recorded the phone calls). In one of these tests the woman is observed to hit Aleix A., who already has previous wounds in the head, arms, ears and back, and open one of the drains in the auditory pavilion. He also heard him threaten to kill his son, and as Aleix A. forced to submit to his will. To the point that in one of the recordings the victim is heard saying his full name, his ID and his address and adding: “If you do not meet the rules, I authorize to kill my son.”
in 2021. After a brief relationship, in which his friends and family said that he led Aleix A. to cut with his surroundings, they broke. But in August of the following year, they contacted again. Montserrat N. said that they were sporadic sexual relations, and already in January 2023 she went to live with him to her floor because she had stayed in the street. Then, according to the tests exhibited in the trial, the man began a process of removing his environment and his family, and of physical and psychological degradation. The decrease in his employment was also caught in the SEAT.
The psychological expert who examined her, Ángel Cuquerella, described the psychological profile of Montserrat N. as the “dark tetrad”, which brings together narcissism, maquiavellism, psychopathy and sadism. “It generates dark personalities that are associated, in a bit vulgar terms, to evil,” he defined before the Jury Court, who said he suffered it sub clinically, without that affecting his ability to discern what is right of what is wrong.
On the afternoon of the murder, Montserrat N. assured that he was showering when he heard Aleix A. return home after having left tobacco. The woman said she took a few minutes and approached Aleix A. and then discovered that she had a chest wound. During the trial the call to 112 that Montserrat N. was heard where he repeated: “Aleix, what have you done?” But the forensic ruled out that the man could have committed suicide. The man also presented about 20 injuries in the skull, some of several days before his death.
