United States President Donald Trump said revenues from commercial tariffs are in strong expansion. “Tariff recipes are starting to reach record levels,” he said during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday (8). According to him, “much of the tariff money will start to arrive on August 1”, when new rates will come into force, according to letters sent to some nations yesterday and others that, according to the president, would still be released on Tuesday.

At the same meeting, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reinforced the data presented by Trump, stating that the public coffers have already benefited from billionaire figures. “We have received $ 100 billion in tariffs so far,” he said. He further estimated that the revenue with tariffs can grow substantially in the coming months. “We can increase the collection to up to $ 300 billion with tariffs by the end of the year,” he added.

The international agenda was also briefly approached during the meeting, especially after recent US military actions against nuclear facilities in Iran. The Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, praised the country’s performance. “No one else could do what was done by the US,” he said, reiterating praise for the US Army.
