The businesswoman and designer Tina Knowles71, Mother of Beyoncé43, defended the daughter about recent criticisms directed at the tour “Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit”. For some netizens, the singer would be showing a “exaggeration patriotism” from the dynamics of songs and looks that refer to the US flag.

As its name suggests, the shows are inspired by country and explores as, focusing on history, resistance and contributions from black artists to American country music.

Last Thursday (9), he made a long outburst and recalled that each symbol and every song on the tour carries deep meanings linked to black history and fights for freedom. “I watched almost every show and I can see the deep meanings that exist in ‘Cowboy Carter’,” she began.

“All careful thinking, intense research, pride in the way of telling stories, all the black history that is incorporated into this tour. Discovering it means! This song was written by the great Paul McCartney about those young black girls who paved the way for us, facing intense abuse to integrate schools – the ‘Little Rock Nine’,” he continued.

Then the matriarch continued to detail the curiosities. “And did you know that the national anthem she sings in the show is the version made by Kimi Hendrix for so many years? And that ends with her singing: ‘I was only waiting for the moment to be free’ (I was just waiting for the moment of being free). Then appear words on the screen: ‘Never ask for something that is already yours’. It’s a bold and true statement,” he said.

“But there are still those who simply do not understand and continue to ask, ‘Why is she singing the national anthem?’. The show starts with ‘America Requiem’ which, if listening carefully, is a tribute that built this country – black people and brown. Please listen carefully,” he said.

Before concluding, Tina also stated that she is sometimes discouraged, as all sacrifice, dedication and effort end up being ignored, criticized and unrecognized. “Hate, envy, criticism, lies, stupid directions from people who know nothing about you seem less important this morning. Maybe not now, but one day our children and grandchildren will look at this show, listen to this album and understand everything that was placed there. They will quote the lyrics and feel a huge pride. ‘These great ideas are buried here,'” he said.
